![]() | AI’s already outsmarting doctors AI beat doctors in 77 percent of cases. Physicians scored lower, missed signs, and made more errors. The AI caught serious issues others ignored, like infections in contact lens wearers. It refused to guess when unsure. Doctors still lead in judgment, but this study shows AI isn’t the future, it’s here. |

AI Will Now Help Run U.S. Nuclear Reactors
Diablo Canyon is making waves as the first U.S. nuclear plant to integrate AI for efficiency.
The Details
Diablo Canyon is shaking up nuclear operations with the debut of AI-powered Neutron Enterprise, making it the first U.S. plant to implement AI for document retrieval. By streamlining hours of data searches, AI promises efficiency gains.
Yet concerns about expanding AI’s role raise alarms, especially about safety in a sensitive environment like this nuclear plant. For now, AI stays limited to assisting with regulatory documents but opens doors to future integration.
Still, experts and lawmakers urge caution. The next few months will reveal how AI handles data retrieval as Diablo Canyon looks toward expansion in its use. But without proper oversight, the road ahead remains murky.

ROBOTICS

AI From Hong Kong Targets Japan
A new tech collaboration is bringing powerful AI systems into Japanese factories to boost precision and global competitiveness.
The Details
At Manufacturing World Nagoya 2025, Hong Kong's FLAIR is partnering with Japanese industries to roll out advanced AI tools across the Chubu region. The focus is on critical sectors like automotive and aerospace, where precision, efficiency, and scalability are essential.
FLAIR’s AI covers everything from visual inspection and product design to warehouse logistics and robotics, helping factories cut costs and improve output quality. This cross-border collaboration signals a strategic shift, blending Hong Kong’s AI expertise with Japan’s industrial strength.
By integrating low-code robotics and real-time AI analysis, factories can now detect defects faster, automate workflows, and operate with greater flexibility. The partnership reflects a growing trend in Asia: using AI not just for automation but for full-scale transformation. As Japan seeks to maintain its manufacturing edge, these tools offer a path to smarter, more adaptive production without heavy infrastructure changes.

AI Fooled Humans But It’s Still Not Smart Like Us
Just because AI sounds human does not mean it thinks like one.
The Details
A recent study showed GPT 4.5 convinced people it was human 73 percent of the time. That led to claims it passed the Turing test. But passing this test only proves AI can mimic human conversation. It does not mean the machine understands what it is saying. The Turing test checks behavior not actual thinking.
Experts say true intelligence needs memory reasoning and awareness. This test cannot measure that. It also has flaws like short time limits and vague setups. So even though GPT 4.5 seems smart it is really just good at faking it. The model predicts what to say based on patterns not understanding. It is a mirror not a mind. AI passing the test does not mean it has human level intelligence. It just means it can act like it does for a few minutes. Real intelligence is much more than pretending to be smart.
