Trump’s AI Policy Aims to Protect Jobs
The Trump administration’s AI stance prioritizes tech innovation while aiming to protect American jobs by limiting cheap labor incentives.
The Details
Vice President J.D. Vance argued that AI will enhance rather than replace jobs, creating more meaningful and higher-paying roles. Speaking at the Andreessen Horowitz American Dynamism Summit, he compared AI’s impact to ATMs replacing some teller jobs but ultimately driving job growth.
The administration plans to limit AI regulations to foster tech innovation and economic expansion. Vance also proposed reducing immigration and restructuring trade policies to discourage offshoring, stating that cheap labor stifles domestic innovation. The administration’s strategy reflects a pro-business stance, betting on AI’s potential to strengthen the economy while keeping jobs in the US.

The US Army’s AI Strategy: More Robots, Fewer Risks
The US Army is integrating AI into its combat strategies, aiming to reduce human casualties and increase battlefield efficiency by deploying robots for dangerous tasks.
The Details
General James Rainey of Army Futures Command revealed that the Army’s priority is to send robots into first contact scenarios, such as clearing buildings or detonating obstacles, keeping soldiers out of direct danger. The goal is to create a “no blood through first contact” doctrine. By combining human decision-making with AI-powered machines, the Army hopes to make units more agile and easier to sustain in long-term conflicts.
Rainey highlighted two key categories for AI systems: “expensive and exquisite” machines that perform flawlessly or “cheap and mass” systems that are affordable and easily replaceable. The Army aims to avoid spending excessively on mid-tier systems that offer neither precision nor cost-efficiency, prioritizing advanced and disposable tech to enhance combat effectiveness.

Nvidia Will Make AI Think Like Humans
Nvidia’s new Blackwell Ultra chips aim to give AI models the ability to reason through complex queries, making them more capable of handling real-life scenarios.
The Details
Blackwell Ultra builds on the previous Blackwell chips, offering significantly faster processing. The company claims that AI models running on Blackwell Ultra can solve tasks in seconds that once took over a minute. This leap in performance is designed to make AI apps capable of reasoning through multi-step problems, considering various outcomes, and delivering more thoughtful responses.
Companies like Cisco, Dell, and HP are already building servers with Blackwell Ultra, expected to launch in late 2025. Nvidia aims to dominate the emerging market of “agentic AI,” where systems can take actions rather than just answer questions. This positions Nvidia to compete with Google, OpenAI, and Chinese startup DeepSeek, all racing to develop more capable, reasoning-driven AI models.
