Privacy Policy

This policy covers aiupdate.ai and the AI Update newsletter, podcast, and YouTube show, run by Mark Savant Media ("we," "us"). Our mailing address is 7901 4th St N Ste 300, St. Petersburg, FL 33702, United States. Contact: mark@aiupdate.ai.

Information you give us: your email address (required to sign up), and optionally your first name, your job category, and, if you tick the box, your consent to receive marketing email (we record the date, the wording version, and the country your request came from).

Information collected automatically: the page you signed up on, the link or campaign that brought you here (UTM tags and referring site), a timestamp, and basic device and usage data collected by our analytics tools. We store first- and last-visit attribution in your browser's local storage (key `aiu_attrib`, 30 days).

Email engagement: our email platform records whether emails are delivered, opened, or clicked, and unsubscribes and bounces.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we do not collect payment card data on this site.

To send what you asked for: the confirmation (double opt-in) email, the free resource you requested (such as The AI Stack for Working Men), and the AI Update newsletter.

To make the content better: understanding which videos, pages, and job categories bring readers in, in aggregate.

To keep the service working and secure: preventing spam signups and abuse, and keeping records of consent and unsubscribes.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your email address with sponsors. Sponsors may receive aggregate, non-identifying statistics (for example, total subscribers or average open rates).

Newsletter and marketing email: your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box and confirming your email. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.

Analytics, security, and record keeping: our legitimate interests in running and improving the site, and our legal obligations.

We use service providers who process data on our behalf under their own terms and data protection agreements:

HighLevel / LeadConnector (CRM and email delivery); Vercel (website hosting and privacy-friendly Vercel Analytics); Google Analytics 4 (site analytics); Supabase (database for signup and attribution records, when enabled).

Links and embeds from YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts are governed by those companies' own privacy policies when you use them.

We may disclose information if required by law, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies (such as `_ga`) to measure visits. Vercel Analytics measures page views without cookies. Our signup form uses browser local storage to remember which link brought you to the site.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and use Google's opt-out browser add-on for Google Analytics.

We keep your subscriber record while you're subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list so we don't email you again, plus the consent and unsubscribe record, for as long as needed to prove compliance.

Unsubscribe anytime with the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing us.

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information by emailing mark@aiupdate.ai. We'll respond within the time the law requires and may need to verify your request.

EU, EEA, and UK residents also have the right to restrict or object to processing and to complain to their local data protection authority. Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have rights to know, delete, and correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We don't sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

We're based in the United States and our providers mainly process data in the US. If you sign up from outside the US, your information is transferred to the US.

AI Update is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete it.

We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access controls to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where required, tell subscribers by email before the changes take effect.
